It may not seem like much...

but I finished the foyer :) I think it's one of the most important rooms in a home. It is the first impression after all ;)

So true......
One of my favorite things about this house is the staircase. Isn't it beautiful?! My birds are finally up too......
I think they'll like it here ;)
Oh! ... and I'm finally happy with the bookshelves. They are always the hardest thing for me to decorate, but thanks to my sweet friend Heather I have them the way I want. Thank you "Fred"!
Last, but not least I wanted to share the view out the window every morning when I visit you....
I love it too :)

Thank you for all your sweet compliments on my last post! Now, back to work.....

hugs and love,
rue

Your home is magnificent. I love the foyer, and those incredible windows and big fat woodwork are enchanting. Your birds look sensational going up the stairs.

As I pop by to see the progress, I can't help but think back to when you had fallen in love with that old home where you used to live. I thought how faithful God is, and look what He had in store for you all the while. This home suits you.

I am so happy for you Rue. What an exciting chapter with a brand new page and tons of promise.

As always your place is a joyful visit.

Now, I remember the'someone' was You! I hope you don't mind that I took your idea and hung my birdies up the wall by my staircase.

Your bird prints remind me of a set of six that I scored at a yard sale this fall for $12. I intended to give them to a friend but I don't think she's into them (or so I am guessing by her lack of response for the last four months. ;-) I should totally do a blog post on them...They are *very* similar to the ones on your landing

You have the gift for vignettes, and vision for putting things together into interesting 'collections' of articles related by subject, color, theme and so on. Everything looks really beautiful, and I'm even enjoying your music selections. Terrific site. Can't wait to see your recipes!

It's autumn in the US midwest. The trees and burning bushes have turned and we've had a frost, so now it's Indian Summer. Right now there's a bit of sun but the morning's temp was quite brisk and probably rain is coming this afternoon. Perfect time for spiced cider or apple juice, a fire, and maybe molasses cookies. Mmmmmm.
