So what did I do all last week?

Well, first I began the eating process, cuz that's what I do when I'm dealing with drama, but I had to be careful because last time I gained a few. So instead of buying quantity, I bought quality..... in other words $8 cherries....... Then I watched a few movies, one of them being Funny Farm....

Have you ever seen it?

It reminds me of moving to this side of the country from California and it's a lot like the Virginia town I lived in.

I forgot how young Chevy Chase was....

but I remembered how much I loved that house....

If you haven't seen it, watch it! I guarantee a lot of giggles especially for those of us that grew up in the big city and moved to a small town ;)

So anyway, we had to go see how the other house was doing up in "Mayberry" and had dinner with Shawn and Becky (Rich's sister) while we were there....

I even had a rare picture of me taken (lol)

Awww..... brother and sister reunited :)

Then came the shopping, but all I found was this lamp at GW that was haunting me every time I had gone there. It looks like the ones in PB, but this one was only 3 bucks!

Oh and I did a little redecorating... this time in the breakfast room....

Eventually we'll be putting up bead board from top to bottom, but for now I needed it to look nice and I think it does... for now anyway ;)

hugs and love,
rue

Now I am curious and I will have to rent that movie. Glad you got a chance to visit with family. Rich and his sister look very much alike through the eyes and nose.

I happen to love your wallpaper in your breakfast room! I will be sad to see it gone, but you need to do what you need to do to make your house YOURS. I'm sure it will be beautiful with the beadboard. I had it in my kitchen and bathroom two houses ago, and loved it. What I did was to have it five feet high so I could add paint in the bathroom and wallpaper in the kitchen. The construction workers couldn't understand why I wanted it five feet high when the boards came 4" high also, but I just liked that height.

Cue the Deer Rue, I LOVE that movie, and always said I wanted to live in a town just like that esp at the holidays, a true norman rockwell town! So many wonderful characters in that movie, have you met any similiar in your small mayberry town? I also love Baby Boom like sheila mentioned same feel. Both houses are fabulous, as is the house in MArley and Me, just too cool! Sue

Can't wait to see bead board.. the wallpaper makes me dizzy girl. Sometimes when you buy a house you just have to live with things as they are for a while, huh. When we moved to Maryland in 2000 I ripped every bit of wallpaper out of the house.. No clue why people use it. ACK

the breakfast room looks terrific! I love that table -- so different.

I haven't seen Funny Farm but now it's on my list of summer rentals to watch with my girls. And they can laugh at the 80s clothes and tease me about watching movies based on the houses involved!

Rue, you are such a lovely lady -- inside AND out! :-) Good to hear from you -- thanks for visiting. And your Mother's Day looked perfect --- as it should have been.

I heart Chevy. If there's a "Vacation" movie on the tele, I'm on it like white on rice. There was a good long stretch of more than 10 years that my family watched Christmas Vacation together on Christmas Eve. :-)

Your wallpaper is fab! I'm usually not a wallpaper person but it look so nice in your room and sets off all of the white woodword so well. Bravo again!
