I’m still here…

but I had to go out of town, which is part of the reason for my blog break. Before I get into why, let me show you what I bought at Lidy’s online shop The French Garden House with the gift certificate I won from Brenda at Cozy Little House…..

Beautifully packed in this box was …..

IMG_5256  this darling Ironstone children’s tea set….IMG_5261 As soon as I found it on Lidy’s site I had to have it….

IMG_5262

and it fits perfectly on great-grandma’s hutch :)IMG_5257Thank you so much Brenda for your generous giveaway and Lidy for having such gorgeous items in your online shop!! Visit both these ladies for a real treat by clicking on their names :)

As for the reason I had to go out of town, my mom had her back surgery that I had mentioned a while ago. It was a week of stress and worry, but my mom is doing very well now. My brother and his family are taking care of her right now, so I’ve left her in great hands.

While we were there, Annie and her cousin had a great time getting to know each other again….IMG_5266 IMG_5269 IMG_5289 IMG_5290 IMG_5299 IMG_5323 We also got to see some of my mom’s new friends….IMG_5359 Aren’t they cute?!  They don’t even care if we’re outside with them!IMG_5369 Anyway, the time spent there ended too soon and as always, we were sad to leave, but it’s good to be home and nice to see trees instead of cacti again LOLIMG_5378 I want to thank all of you for your sweet comments on my last post. I have a lot of catching up to do and I will as soon as I get rid of the horrendous sunburn that I got while my mom was taking a 3 hour nap…. yikes! It was all I could do to sit here and type this out ;)

I’ve missed you!!

hugs and love,

rue

Hi sweetie, good to hear that your mum is doing well. I will keep her in my prayers. The photo's of Annie and your nephew are adorable! As for the sunbrun, sweetie try to get your hands on an aloe vera plant, pick the leaves, put them in the fridge to cool, then slice them open and rub directly on the skin. This is what we always do, and they don't call OZ the sunburnt country for nothing! lol Have a lovely day sweet Rue.

Hope your sunburn gets better...back in the day I fell asleep in the sun once and the word sunburn doesn't even describe what I had..I was in such pain and someone told me to take a bath in vinger water and that would stop the burn....IT WAS ALL A LIE I TELL YOU.....I FELT LIKE A CHICKEN THROWED IN A DEEP FRYER!!!!! lol lol But you know that 'famous white stuff' we used in RMS days...yea you know...it works wonders! lol Just put a thick white coat on and let it soak in on it's own! Hey there Rue,
Gosh I have been gone for a long time out in the garden! I am sorry to hear about Shiloh. We have just brought home a stray, well we've had her about 3 weeks. I couldn't bear to watch her roam the streets any longer about to starve to death.

Your cozy home is lookin' good. I bet you are having a ball decorating and tweaking. Loved looking at all the beautiful kitchen pictures.

Why in the world do you, of all people, have a heckler. What's wrong with some people? You handled the situation with such dignity my friend. Now I am curious what she said. Of course I missed it while out in the garden!

Hey, Victorian chicken house is done!!!! Come on over for some deviled eggs!
