First Exchange of words between Iran and the US Presidency since 1979

Barack Obama spoke, this Friday, on the phone, with the Iranian President. Is the first approximation of its kind between two heads of State â€" American and Iranian â€" since 1979.

Barack Obama explains the content of the conversation:

"I just got off the phone with the President Rohani, the Islamic Republic of Iran. The two discussed efforts that we are developing to reach an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program. I reiterated to the President that Rohani said in New York: Although there are certainly important obstacles to circumvent and success is not guaranteed, in any way, I believe we can reach a comprehensive settlement. "

This Thursday Rohani had already shown how pleased I am that calling a "change of tone" of the United States and confidence in a convincing resolution for Iran and the West.
