Fishermen test fishing off Fukushima

A fleet of 21 fishing boats left this morning from the port of Matsukawaura, in Japan, to the faina off the coast of Fukushima, the rugged area nuclear power plant.

Fishing had been resumed in June last year, but was interrupted after the multiple leaks of radioactive, recorded in the last two months.

The fish test is limited to 16 species of Octopus or squid â€" nothing â€" and should be done at 50 miles off the coast, in an area with more than 150 metres deep.

"We want to share this nice fish with many consumers. We are prepared to move forward, whatever the rumors, "says a fisherman.

Before it is sent to the fish market, the fishing cooperative will conduct analyses of radioactivity.

Other fishermen in the surrounding area of Fukushina expect to resume activity in early October.
