Spiral of violence in Iraq

At least 70 killed and over a hundred injured. Is the balance of the attack this Saturday on the outskirts of Baghdad during a funeral.

The attack occurred in a mostly Shiite district of the Iraqi capital.

Suicide bombers were blowing up in a tent where the funeral ceremony was ongoing. The authorities estimate that 500 people were at the scene. The flames were eventually propagate to other tents and vehicles who were stationed abroad.

Another bomb was detonated upon arrival of the police and emergency services.

The day was also marked by other bombings in different parts of Iraq

According to the United Nations, only in August were killed more than 800 people in the country.
