Saudi women fight for the right to drive

Still, in the past two weeks, more than 50 women have posted videos online driving and, since September, which circulates on the internet, a petition by the defense of his right to drive. This internet Web site is blocked but has already gathered more than 16 thousand signatures.

The organisers of this protest, in social networks, does not call for a joint demonstration to avoid what happened in 1990 when women, who participated in driving cars, in Riyadh, were detained.

The Saudi Arabia is the only country where women cannot drive and require permission of a man-father, brother or husband-to travel, work or marry.
