14 dead and 120 wounded in a double bombing in Egypt

At least 14 people died and 120 others were injured in an attack with a booby-trapped vehicle next to a building of the Egyptian police in Mansoura, in the Nile delta, about 100 kilometers north of Cairo.

According to sources of the security forces, the vehicle used in the attack is still several dozen kilos of explosives and the resulting deflagration felt for more than twenty miles away. Most of the victims are police officers; among the wounded is the general Sami el-Mihi, head of security in the province of Mansoura.

The bombing also did significant damage in several surrounding buildings.

The attacks against police and Egyptian military have multiplied since the army overthrew the July 3 the Islamist President Mohamed Morsi.

Shortly after the bombing in Mansoura, the Egyptian Prime Minister decreed the Muslim Brotherhood which supports Morsi as "terrorist organization".
