Erdogan: "If the nation tells us to leave, we will"

The Turkish army will not take any position on the current political crisis in the country, motivated by the investigation of an alleged corruption case involving figures close to the Government. The statement was published this Friday in a press release. The armed forces have a history of political intervention in Turkey, through coups d ' état.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan responded: "to be clear. If the nation tells us to leave, we will. Without hesitation. Because we respect. But when people tell us to stay, we're not going to listen to anyone who tells us to leave. "

The Prime Minister considers to have popular support and that it is now up to the people to judge the judges and prosecutors, the same people that people decided to return to the streets.
