France: Detained suspect in quadruple murder case in the Alps in 2012

Released a little over three months, the sketch of a biker who was spotted near the crime scene has allowed the police to detain a man of 48 years.

The authorities predict that maybe they will be made more arrests.

The September 5, 2012, Saad al-Hilli, 50 years, a British engineer of Iraqi origin who worked in the aeronautical industry in the United Kingdom, his wife, his mother-in-law and a French cyclist were shot on a forest road near Chevaline, in the region of Annecy.

Two daughters of the couple survived the attack, and one of them was injured seriously. The French cyclist was considered a collateral victim of the crime.

More than 100 British and French police agents have been involved in the investigation. One of the research lines followed by the authorities is the possibility that the crime be a consequence of a war within the al-Hilli around an inheritance.

It is speculated that the murder may have links to Iraq or al-Hilli, working as an engineer of satellites in the United Kingdom.

Intriguing continues to be the murder weapon: an old handgun Luger, 7.65 mm P06, which was part of the equipment of the army and police in Switzerland years 20 and 30 of the last century.
