Agreement with the EU is not enough to lift the mood in Kiev

"No to ' russismo '," reads an ephemeral composition the day Russia officially annexed the Crimea and the Ukraine signed the partnership agreement with the European Union.

But, for many Ukrainians, the signature of the agreement "does not mean victory. The victory must be accompanied by a sense of security, when the borders are protected, when people are safe, whether in the Crimea, in the East of Ukraine or the rest of the country, "said the poet and activist Maria Dragina, one of the first to reach the Maidan square on 21 November, after unexpectedly, the Ukrainian regime have returned back to the association agreement with the European Union.

In the non-governmental organization (NGO) Center at, one of the leading hotels in Ukraine, Svitlana Zalishchuck States that "at the current time, the Government should not be assessed on the basis of their ability to bring prosperity and reconciliation" because you have to work between a rock and a hard place. "There are three factors to be taken into account: the first is the war with Russia; the second is the instability in several regions and the third is the deep economic crisis, "he explained.

A Government doomed to disappear, which will be successful if it manages to keep what remains of the territorial unit of Ukraine and lay the groundwork for reforms that can bring the Ukrainian economy into the 21st century.
