The demonstration brought together Ngos, associations, trade unions and the Group of outraged. To ensure safety and avoid incidents, from fear of the announced presence of anarchist groups, were mobilized 1,700 soldiers.

The demonstrators protested against the policy of austerity, but also denounced the unemployment rate of 26% and a host of other issues, as explained a young student, Angela Olivas: "Protest against everything â€" education, health care, mortgages, the cuts, the new public security law, let us not forget, as it is very important, and the enormous corruption we have in Spain at the moment."

According to another protester, Angelino Castro, "this protest serves for those who govern â€" or before â€" desgovernam realize that we're not idiots nor any sheep."

The Spanish Government took in 2012 with a plan of 150 billion euros of cuts to reduce the deficit and the debt of the country. The protesters blame this unprecedented austerity policy by the recession and record unemployment rate in the country.
