Ukraine: White House Announces Joe Biden visit to Kiev

The Vice President of the United States has scheduled trip to Kiev five days after performing in Switzerland of a Summit to four, which will join the same table for the first time since the formation of the new Ukrainian Government, Russia officials and representations of Ukraine, with intermediation of the United States and the European Union.

Joe Biden's trip to the Ukrainian capital was announced by the White House, after a day before Washington revealed concern over escalating tensions in the East of Ukraine. In various towns considered key in the region such as Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv, pró-Rússia groups maintains an arm wrestle with the Ukrainian Government, supported by a support, for while merely psychological, Russian military forces, which has strengthened positions along the border between the two countries.

In order to pacify the environment, the Ukrainian Prime Minister moved Friday to Donetsk and met with several influential figures in the eastern region of Ukraine, including some oligarchs with weight in the ancien régime of Viktor Ianukovich. The goal of Arseny Iatseniuk was trying to negotiate a diplomatic solution to the political differences that have been getting worse in the area vis-à-vis the Government based in Kiev and that threaten to degenerate into a violent confrontation.

The visit announced this Saturday Joe Biden to Kiev, for another week and a half, will also have the goal of helping you unwind the concerns in the East of the country, with the promise of being presented to the Ukrainian energy alternatives to Russia.
