Boko Haram: "Kidnapped your girl. I'm selling them "

In a video with almost an hour, whose authenticity is still to be verified, the leader of the Islamic extremist group, Abubakar Shekau, affirms in particular that children aged nine years will be sold for marriage.

One of the girls who managed to escape the kidnappers reported that young girls are raped 15 times a day.

Nigeria's President has asked the support of the international community and the White House claims to be monitoring what sorts of "outrage and horrible tragedy" and promises to do everything possible "to find and free these girls".

The United Nations has also called for an "urgent response" from the international community to "return safely the girls to their homes".

The population of the largest African economy is angry with the inability of the authorities to stop the Boko Haram and give voice to their anger on the streets of Abuja and Lagos.

Unconfirmed reports say that some girls have already been sold for $ 12 each, a little more than 8 euros.

The kidnapping occurred three weeks ago, on April 14, in a school in Chibok, in Borno State, a region where the Boku Haram is particularly active. According to the authorities, 53 students managed to escape, 223 remain in captivity.
