Landslides cause more than 2000 dead in Afghanistan

Many people are still reported missing. Panic and anxiety shot down on Afghans who try at all costs to find survivors

The collapse of Earth and mud hit the remote village of Hobo Barik, in the mountainous region of Badakhshane, in the northeast of the country

Regional police chief took advantage of the television cameras to ask the businessmen in the country, the international sponsor and Government itself to help in the relief efforts to the victims.

Some of the survivors are already receive some help, but that turns out to be insufficient for all affected by the tragedy.

The means to search for survivors also are scarce. Badakhshan Governor asked to be sent to the site more shovels to help rescue teams in the search for victims.
