Iraq: Kerry meets with Maliki with the insurgents in the crosshairs

The US Secretary of State, John Kerry, met with the Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki, who will press for a Government of national unity. A way to give greater cohesion to the country at a time when the Sunni guerrillas of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant win positions.

The discontent of Sunni and Kurdish communities also, in part, a Shiite with Mailiki has been fertile ground for insurgent advances.

Kerry will also address ways to help the Iraqi Government to halt the incursions, which, according to Washington, is impossible without greater national unity in the country.
