Referendum in Hong Kong defies Beijing power

"It's a disappointment. We thought that this would be "one country, two systems" and that the population of Hong Kong would have been entitled to universal suffrage. But there is increasing oppression and more control. There is even a political document about it, it's scary, "said one voter.

The Chinese Government promises elections from 2017. But if there are no immediate signs of democratic opening, the movement Occupy Central threat to paralyse the financial sector of Hong Kong.
