Yemen: Fighting near the Presidential Palace

According to an officer of the presidential guard, the rebels control the buildings in the vicinity of the Palace and bombed the building.

These clashes reflect increasing tension between the Shiites and the President, Abdo Rabu Mansur Hadi, after his Chief of staff have been kidnapped by the rebels, who have threatened with more similar actions.

The Shiite insurgent control since September the Yemeni capital and the respective province as well as six other regions of the country.

The advancement of the Shiite militias led to the formation of a new Government in September and the signing of several agreements to end the conflict, but the Shiites, who have already proved themselves in weapons repeatedly against Sunni authorities did not respect the provision aimed at the withdrawal of their militias of the cities.
