Eurogroup extends funding to Greece for 4 months

The Greece can breathe a sigh of relief, at least for the next four months. The eurozone finance ministers agreed to prolong the financing program to Athens.

The President of the Eurogroup noted, however, that the terms of the buyback programme shall continue to apply, albeit with some flexibility. Jeroen Dijsselbloem indicated that Athens must present the first list of reform measures until Monday, including in particular the fight against fiscal fraud and corruption and the restructuring of public administration.

The Greek Government had initially asked for a six-month extension to renegotiate the terms of the Pact with the international creditors.
