The Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Democrats, Nick Clegg, has managed to keep his parliamentary seat in Sheffield Halam.

On a night that brought a heavy defeat for his party, Clegg left in the air the possibility of resignation. In 2010 Clegg won with a majority of 15 thousand votes, now that margin would have been reduced to about two thousand votes.
