Yemen: Shelling intensifies on eve of "humanitarian truce"

The Arab military coalition airplanes launched a new large-scale attack on various positions of Houtis militias, this Monday, on the eve of the start of a five-day humanitarian truce.

The bombings aimed at several cities in the country, as well as areas along the border with Saudi Arabia.

On Sunday, one of the attacks had reached the residence of the former President of the country, in the capital Sanaa. Ali Abduallah Saleh, who escaped unhurt in the attack, is an ally of the Shiite militias, but advocate of implementing a truce and the resumption of negotiations.

"What's happening is unjustifiable, an attack against the people of Yemen and against me as a Yemeni. The attack against me cannot be an attack against the whole country and all citizens. But they attacked us the Saddah Aden, of Hadramaut to Meedi. This is a genocide, a war of revenge and hatred against the Yemeni people, "said Saleh, interviewed in front of his house in ruins.

The Houtis, who declared to accept the Truce from Tuesday, at local 11:00 pm, stated, on the other hand, shooting dead a Moroccan military aircraft, in the province of Saada, near the Saudi border.

The cease-fire should allow the entry of humanitarian aid in the territory, where the conflict between the supporters of President Hadi and Shiite militias have caused 1400 deaths and more than 6,000 injured.
