Immigration: Ventimiglia voltage source

Tension rises in Ventimiglia, Italy.

This Tuesday the police became involved in clashes with some of the estimated 200 immigrants who are in the border since Saturday, waiting for you to let them in France.

The authorities tried to make a group of immigrants into a Red Cross bus for the drive to the railway station, where they installed a room for them. Some refused and confusion ensued.

The immigrants, mostly from Sudan, Eritrea, and Somalia, are sleeping under adverse conditions, some on the block the dykes of the promenade of the city.

The situation in Ventimiglia is causing strong tensions within the European Union. The Rome Government hopes measures from Brussels.
