Armenia opens investigation police brutality during protests

The authorities have opened an investigation to action of the forces of law and order, after reports of violence during the protests against rising electricity prices.

The survey collects charges of abuse of power, violence and obstructing the work of journalists.

Since June 19 that thousands of people have demonstrated daily against the rise in 16% of the electricity bill.

A move harshly repressed by police, in a single day (23 June), came to hold more than 230 protesters.

The protest took the President Serge Sarkissian to unblock funds to prevent temporarily the rising prices.
