Iraq: HEY responds to army offensive with four bombings in Baghdad

At least 30 people died and more than 80 were injured after four bombs have blown up cars on Tuesday in the capital region.

The most deadly action, carried out by a suicide occurred in a neighborhood in southern Baghdad when an attack caused 18 dead and 42 wounded.

The actions assigned to the Group Islamic State, occur after the Iraqi army and the Sunni fighters have launched a new offensive to reclaim land in the province of Al-Anbar.

The operation aims to strengthen control of the town of Haditha, one of the last areas of the province to resist the advance of the Islamist group.

In a recent message, the armed group had appealed to the residents of Haditha to surrender, when they are under siege for several weeks.
