Violence in Athens anticipates approval of memorandum

Even before the approval, by Parliament, of the new package of measures, a group of people expressed their dissatisfaction on the streets of Athens. A peaceful demonstration ended in clashes between police and protesters on the main square of the Greek capital. At least six people were injured and 40 were arrested. The protests degenerated into violence when some Greeks have challenged the police, even burn ATM machines:

The peaceful March began during the day and meant to be a protest against the acceptance of the new package of measures:

"I would say to the Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, he betrayed us. He betrayed our expectations, honestly, we thought that cared more about our country. We thought he was different. Not trusted in the old Government, old politicians. He was our last hope, "a young Greek vents.

"No more lies. We have had enough. More than 200 000 young people have left the country. They are the future of Greece and we are sending them to factories in Germany. For what? We should all be in Greece and work together, as if we were just one, "says a Greek.
