Singapore: half a century of independence

About of 250 thousand people attended the celebrations involving 2000 participants.

Until the 90, Singapore experienced a spectacular economic development, making it one of the "Asian Tigers".

This success is largely attributed to Lee Kuan Yew, influential personality not just in the City-State, but in Asia.

The celebrations began with the sound of sirens by local 09:00, followed by the transmission by television and national radio of a recording, dating from 2012, when Lee Kuan Yew reread the original declaration of independence.
