Children drown in Iraq buried

In Iraq took place this Thursday the funerals of two refugee children who drowned off the coast of Bodrum in Turkey.

The two children, eight and twelve years of age, died trying to reach the Greek island of Kos.

The remains of the children were taken to Baghdad where followed to the city of Kerbala, a Shiite shrine where the funeral ceremony took place.

The family of the children was in the same boat of another child, Kamlesh Kurdi, three-year-old, whose death shocked the world.

"They left in search of a better life and look at the result. The two children died and the mother is still suffering the effects of experience by that spent on the high seas. Whenever you close your eyes, she sees drowning. She was rescued by the daughter who grabbed her by the hair, "said Umm Ali, aunt of victims.

Hundreds of thousands of refugees trying to reach Europe by crossing the Mediterranean. These join other economic migrants trying to escape poverty in Africa and Asia.
