Lebanon: trash to denounce corruption in front of the Ministry of the environment

Several activists entering the second week of a hunger strike, to demand the resignation of the Environment Minister, Mohamad Al Machnouk, accused of corruption in the management of the waste in the capital.

A protester explains that "the strike is motivated by an unsustainable situation. We need to start applying the principle of accountability for the corruption. People need to wake up and start doing something to fix, at least somewhat, the problems of this country ".

The demonstrations against the management of waste in Beirut, which began in July, quickly became a widespread protest against the political class and the sectarian divisions in power, considered corrupt and dysfunctional.
