Russian planes will no longer land in Ukrainian airports

The measure, announced Friday, is part of a wave of sanctions imposed by the Government in Kiev against Russia, for the support given by Moscow to the separatists in Eastern Ukraine.

After a meeting of the Executive, the Ukrainian Prime Minister said that "planes with the Russian tricolor flag have no place in Ukrainian airports". Arseniy Yatsenyuk further explained that "the flights of Russian companies in Ukrainian airspace will also be banned, if carrying military equipment or soldiers."

The Russian President's spokesman said that if the measure enters into force, will be "an act of madness" and the Russian Transport Minister warned that his country will retaliate.
