Hurricane winds ravage Sardinia and Corsica

A woman died when circulated in a flooded road, on the outskirts of Turin.

The area most affected by the torrential rains and strong wind is the island of Sardinia in the Mediterranean Sea, where there are damages in dozens of villages but no casualties to report.

At least 40 people were evacuated during the night in the town of Olbia as a precautionary measure.

In the region of Liguria, the authorities decided to extend the warning of bad weather until tomorrow, when, in Tuscany, the bad weather led to the interruption of ferry services to the island of Elba.

In the nearby Corsica, in French territory, at least 250 people were evacuated from a campsite on the outskirts of the city of Aleria.

The high winds of 110 to 130 km per hour have forced local authorities to stop some maritime connections to the Mainland, having closed various schools.
