Palestinian State flag hoisted at United Nations Headquarters

The President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmud Abbas spoke Wednesday before the UN General Assembly and asked for it to be done this recognition. Abbas also threatened to respecting the agreements with Israel if Tel Aviv continue to reject them: "as long as Israel continues to reject the order of settlements and the release of the fourth group of Palestinian prisoners, as set out in the agreements, we have no other option and we won't be the only ones committed to implementing these agreements". The President of the Palestinian Authority assured that "those who seek peace and the fight against terrorism must begin by trying to find a solution to the Palestinian conflict".

This speech received a huge ovation at the UN General Assembly. Mahmud Abbas recalled that the tensions in Jerusalem have been rising.

In the last few hours, the Israeli police arrested at least eight adults and five minors for civil disturbance near the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Since the religious clashes have resumed in the middle of the month, already have been arrested around of 200 people.

After the recent clashes, the Israelites have limited access to the mosque. Now, only Muslim men aged over 50 years old can enter, a measure opposed by the Palestinians.
