Argentina elects new President today

The candidate of the opposition alliance "Cambiemos", the conservative Mauricio Macri, was given as a favorite in recent polls.

Macri will face Daniel Scioli, the left-wing coalition that runs the country for 12 years. The power candidate won the first round of voting with 37% votes, three more points than his rival, but has since dropped to second place in the voting intentions.

The undecided, estimated between 4 and 11% of the electorate, will be the key of the ballot.

These represent the end of the presidential "was Kirchner". President Cristina Fernandez Kirchner-who succeeded her husband in 2007-could not run for a third term. However, the opposition estimates that the outgoing head of State can keep a hand in power, in the case of a victory of Scioli, although this has not been their choice to represent the colors of the party.
