International Athletics Federation suspends Russia

This means that the Russian athletes most likely will miss the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, next summer. Despite the decision, Vitaly Mutko, Minister of sports in Russian, ensures that the suspension is temporary and that the problem can be solved.

The punishment is the widespread practice of doping among athletes in the country, with the support of the State entities and the blind eye of the International Federation.
