Armenia: disputed victory of the "Yes" by passing the parliamentary system

The opposition denounced the constitutional reform as a move by President Serge Sarkissian to stay in power, at the end of the second term â€" and last allowed by the Constitution, passing from the post of Chief of staff to Chief Executive with an expected victory for his party in upcoming legislation.

According to the Armenian Electoral Commission, 63.35 per 100 of the voters voted for the reform. The opposition denounced irregularities in polling stations and appealed to the population to go out again to the street in the capital to contest the outcome of the referendum. Last Tuesday, about 5000 people demonstrated in Yerevan against the constitutional reform bill.
