Continue the contacts in Geneva to resolve Syrian conflict

The opposition and the Syrian regime intensified in Geneva and contacts continue formal discussions Monday, but separately, with the UN to try to find a negotiated solution to the war in Syria.

The delegation of the regime accused the opposition of lack of seriousness to try to resolve the conflict. The Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations, Bashar al-Jaafari, ensured that Damascus wants to end the "bloodbath".

The UN Envoy to Syria, Staffan de Mistura proved to be optimistic about the negotiations after meeting with the main opposition group in the margins of the official meeting, in which they are provided for indirect talks with the Damascus regime.

Thi s process can last six months deadline set by the UN to form a transitional authority that would organize elections in mid-2017.

Salem al-Mislet, spokesman of the opposition delegation stated: "we had a good meeting with Mr. de Mistura. Things are positive. We have received very positive messages ".
