Italy: Thousands demonstrate against homosexual civil unions

Thousands of opponents of the law project, which is expected to be voted in Parliament in February, demonstrated Saturday in Rome.

The Italy is the only country in Western Europe to still not have modified the law to recognize the rights of gay couples.

A protester says, "I think we should give priority to the rights of children, before we in the rights of adults, who are free to do whatever they want. It is a fact and it's nature that imposes that a baby is the fruit of a man and a woman ".

At the base of the revolt of the conservative sectors is the proposal that divides even the party of Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and allowing the adoption, albeit limited to biological children of one of the spouses.
