Migratory crisis: UN says that Europe needs a new "long-term strategy"

The UN Special Envoy for the human rights of Refugees, François Crépeau, visited this weekend several accommodation centres and processing of asylum seekers in Greece.

In Athens, Crépeau, stated that "there is a lack of vision at European Union level. There is a need for a more structured strategy and long-term; a generational strategy about where we want to be in 10 or even 20 years, regarding the migrations of the tasks or liberalisation of visas and mobility across borders ".

The UN High Commissioner for refugees, Filippo Grandi, said in an interview that more countries must help the "few Nations" to assume the burden, is increasing the funding, or welcoming migrants. Grandi argued that the refugee crisis is currently a "global phenomen on", which requires "global responses."
