Identified new works by Vincent Van Gogh

The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam announced this Monday have identified a new picture of the artist.Entitled "sunset at Mont Majour" the work was painted in Arles, in France, where the painter arrived in 1888.For two years the work was studied by experts of the Museum to ensure its authenticity. "We are very happy. It's a very special moment for us. It is a unique moment in the history of the Museum to add a work so important to the list of works by Vincent Van Gogh. We are very happy, "said Axel Ruger, Director of the Museum. The painting belongs to a private collector who for years kept in an attic, thinking that it was a copy.Are known references of Van Gogh to the landscape of Mont Majour in a letter to his friend Ãmile Bernard, French painter and writer.The work also appeared in 1890 in the collection of Theo Van Gogh, brother of the painter.
