Syria: Kerry and Lavrov will meet at the end of the month

The American Secretary of State and the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs concluded this morning in Geneva two days of discussions about Syria. John Kerry and Mr Lavrov have qualified the talks as "constructive" and arranged a new meeting at the end of the month in New York. The head of American diplomacy stated that "President Obama is committed to a negotiated solution for Syria and the same applies to the Russia, by which both administrations are working to find a compromise."Serguei Lavrov and John Kerry expect talks on the chemical arsenal of the regime of Bashar al-Assad will help revive an international plan and allow the realization of a world peace conference in Switzerland. The UN Envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi joined the negotiations this morning. The Algerian diplomat's mission is to organize the so-called Geneva Conference 2.
