Body of nazi criminal awaits fate in military airport of Rome

The Germany says not having received a formal request from the Italian authorities for an eventual transfer of the remains of Erich Priebke.

The body of nazi war criminal, who died in Rome on Friday for 100 years, is a military airport in the Italian capital, while authorities try to find a final destination.

A resident of the capital says that "he must be shipped out of Italy, should be thrown out, because it doesn't deserve to be here and, much less, in Rome".

Another States that "should be sent to the country of origin, by the evil that made".

The body was transferred to the military airport after protests stirred up which led to the annulment of the funeral near Rome.

The city of Hennigsdorf, in Germany â€" where Priebke was born, that he's already turned down there buried.

The former captain of the elite forces of Hitler was convicted in 1998, by the massacre of the Ardeatinas caves in Rome, where they were executed 335 Italian civilians.
