Kerry met with a few smiles in Paris

It was with a handshake and a few smiles that the head of French diplomacy, Laurent Fabius, received the Secretary of State, John Kerry, in Paris.

On the menu of breakfast: the revelations that realize systematic access to telephone communications of French citizens by the National Security Agency of the United States.

"The adoption of the proposal strengthens the individual rights of European citizens as the fines imposed on undertakings that fail can reach 5% of global annual revenues," says Mr Jan Philipp Albrecht of the Greens.

Before being implemented, the measures still have a long way to go.

In the sights of the new legislation are search engines, social networks and online services companies.

The idea is to limit access to users ' data by European countries such as the United States.
