Turkey: Celebrations and protests in celebration of 90 years of the Republic

The President of the Republic, Abdullah Gul, began official celebrations with the deposition of a wreath at the memorial to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founder of the Turkish Republic.

But the day of celebration of the Republic also served for those who dispute the current Government manifest.

"Many of the gains values over 90 years of Republic were destroyed. People react about it, "said one writer.

The opposition accuses the Government, Muslim orientation, increasingly authoritarian actions.
