China: Police seek two suspects Uighurs

On Monday a vehicle with three occupants killed dozens of people and caught fire near the portrait of Mao Zedong. Two tourists died as a result of the incident, as well as the occupants of the vehicle.

Despite the official silence, the police released a request for information to Beijing Hotels in pursuit of two suspects with names belonging to the Uighur ethnicity, the majority in the region of Xinjiang, in the far reaches of Western China.

Asked to comment on the political situation in the autonomous province, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hua Chunying, said everything was "very well" even though the Government admitted the occurrence of "some cases of violent terrorism in particular areas of Xinjiang".

In 2009, clashes between Uighurs and Han, who form the ethnic majority in China, made two hundreds of dead in the region.
