Bachelet forwarded to reconquer Chile Presidency

The Chile is today stage general elections where, for the first time, voting is not compulsory.

Chileans are called to the polls to choose a new President, 120 deputies and renew 20 of 38 senators. According to polls, forty percent of voters might decide to abstain.

The heads of State present nine candidates, but the fight is focused between former President Michelle Bachelet and the former Minister of labor, Evelyn Matthei.

Great favorite, Bachelet seems on track to return to the Presidency, which he held between 2006 and 2010. But the big question is whether the center-left candidate, also supported by the Communists, will win in the first round or if it will need to meet the December 15 Matthei.

The former Minister of labor represents the center-right coalition currently in power.
