France: Equestrian Sector protests against VAT rise

The President of the French Federation of horse riding, Serge Lecomte, says this increase can "lead to the loss of 6,000 jobs, a number that is greater than the redundancies in large companies that make politicians Act".

The Government in Paris says that this increase is imposed by the policies of Brussels. In March 2012, the France was condemned by the Court of Justice of the European Union to raise the VAT rate in the equestrian industry from 2013.
