Harsh sentences against minors feed its defence in Egypt

This time it's not just Islamists, but also secular movements and in particular students, who denounce the authoritarian drift of the Government established by the army.

In the afternoon, clashes between the security forces and protesters at Cairo University made a hit, the first since it was enacted the controversial Bill that authorizes the use of force to disperse any protest that does not receive the approval of the authorities.

The demonstrations also denounced an article of the Constitution currently being revised which authorizes the military to judge civilians.

The NGO Amnesty International demanded the "immediate and unconditional release" of the 21 women convicted of having formed a human chain against the dismissal of President Mohamed Morsi. Fourteen adults received eleven years in prison sentences for participating in the protest and belong to the Muslim Brotherhood and seven others, with less than 18 years, were sent to a juvenile Center.
