Hezbollah "until the end" with Bashar el-Assad

At a rally in Beirut to mark the Ashura, one of the most important parties of the Shiite calendar, the leader of the movement, Hassan Nasrallah, vowed loyalty to the regime of Bashar el-Assad.

Nasrallah walked away any chance of withdrawal of Syria, a condition imposed by some for the formation of a Government in Lebanon, which is without an Executive for seven months.

"As I have said repeatedly, our presence in Syria, the presence of our fighters and mujaedines serves to protect the Lebanon, Palestine and the Palestinian cause. The Syria is a bastion and a support for the resistance, "said the leader of the Shiite movement.

Hezbollah has had an important role in the civil war from Syria, with fighters of the Shiite movement fighting alongside government troops. Hezbollah's support was instrumental in the capture of the city of Quasair the rebels.

The rally of Nasrallah was accompanied by a strong presence of the Lebanese army, which showed in the neighborhoods South of Beirut for the first time since the August bombing.

At the time, the explosion of a car bomb in the area, a bastion of Hezbollah, made 27 dead. The bombing was claimed by a a small Sunni group.
