Muslim Brotherhood: 1st day as a "terrorist organization"

Another bombing in Cairo, this time without any casualties on the first day of a new era in the historical repression of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.

The day before, the military regime, now of transition, ranked for the first time the Islamist movement as "terrorist organization" and threatened its leaders with the death penalty.

Victim of a wave of endless violence, the population look to the bombings as an "attempt to prevent participation in the referendum" to the new Constitution within three weeks. "They won't be able to intimidate us in this way," a ensured inhabitant of Cairo.

This Thursday, 38 supporters of the brotherhood were arrested and the authorities have banned the distribution of the newspaper of the movement, the "liberty and justice".

The Government has accused the brotherhood, in particular, on the attack against the police headquarters in Mansura. The Muslim Brotherhood has denied responsibility and condemned the attack.

Islamic militants claim that the "charges of terrorism has not yet been proven" that the decision was "taken in haste" and that explosions that the Government wants to impute to the Muslim Brotherhood were perpetrated by other groups ".

Founded in 1928, the Muslim Brotherhood was almost always suppressed in Egypt. Now returns to hiding, 18 months after he won the first free elections after the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak.
