Pope creates Commission for protecting and supporting the victims of sexual abuse of minors

"This Commission should analyze the current programs of protection of minors and to formulate suggestions, in collaboration with the bishops and Bishops ' conferences" â€" explained the Archbishop of Boston.

This proposal has been submitted on Wednesday to the Supreme Pontiff for the "G8" of Cardinals, the Pope's Advisory Council on the reform of the Roman Curia. The Vatican claimed to be investigating thousands of alleged cases of sexual abuse, but it is unknown how many have been confirmed and what kind of action was taken against priests found guilty. The Holy See says is not responsible for the actions of religious, subject to the laws of each country.
