Putin free Pussy Riot ahead of time

It all started with a video directed by Pussy Riot in February 2012. Five women went up to the altar of unidentified persons wearing hoods Christ the Saviour Cathedral in Moscow and improvised a prayer "punk" to the sound of the electric guitar "appealing to" Virgin Mary "that took Putin from power.

At that time, the then Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin, was a candidate for a new term as President of the Republic. When Putin was elected Russian President for the third time, three members of the group "Pussy Riot" were immediately detained by authorities.

The process began in July 2012 and 17 August, the three women were sentenced to two years in prison for organized vandalism motivated by religious hatred.

Varvara Tolokonnikova of 79-year-old grandmother of Nadezhda, singled out as the leader of the trio. According to Varvara, Putin could have chosen another punishment against her granddaughter.

"If they hadn't stuck with him. Putin is not the kind of person able to forgive. That show was a strong slap in the face, I could never forgive them and that's why things have followed this course, "he said.

Feminists, anti-Putin icons

So who are these women? Are not "punk" singers, neither artists nor poets. The Pussy Riot are unclassifiable. Make spectacles that do not belong to any category, mix politics, religion and art, but after the arrest, these three women, became one of the greatest icons anti-Putin.

One of the members of the group, Ekaterina Samoutsevicth, left the jail in October last year. Ekaterina was captured by the authorities before you even attend the performance, but managed the parole.

However, the two-year penalty was applied to two companions. Anything worth the requests of two young mothers, who were separated from their children, nor the hunger strike undertaken by alleged leader Nadezhda Tolokonnikova.

The two Russian women were transferred to the Ural mountains in Siberia to do the time. Should have been freed in March 2014, but the amnesty from President Putin allowed to come into the street three months ahead of schedule.
